6packofun
Seeing this a lot and, because we don't use the portfolio option for our requirement here in Ohio (we do testing), I'm a little flustered. Not that I couldn't put one together, but I think our dc's test scores should reflect that they've done the necessary course load. I am surprised that a university has the time and man-power (supposedly) to look through a portfolio in addition to the regular admission materials. Just wondering what everyone's experiences have been!
Ellie
I don't know how to quantify it, but it isn't *un*common. People who do classes and whatnot for homeschoolers will often recommend that parents and teens keep portfolios (or be prepared to put one together). Back in the day, Grant Colfax had to do one for his admission into Harvard. I think his brother Drew did, also.
creekland
We haven't needed one at all for any colleges my two older boys have been interested in. We could make one easily since PA requires them annually and we've kept them.
In The Great White North
Ds didn't need any. How about starting a list of colleges that require one?
