Quiver0f10
If you were NOT always vegan/vegetarian, did it mess with your cycles when you switched? I am late and got 2 negative pregnancy test so I am wondering whats up. Thanks.
sleepy
When I became vegetarian, my cycles were normal. A year later, when I became a vegan, I was already preggo. The only time I ever missed a cycle and I wasn't pg, I had just gotten my cycle back and the baby was still nursing like crazy, so I attributed it to that. Lisa at Home
Well, my cycles have gotten more regular the healthier I ate. I have weaned out the animal products over time, with short bursts of failure.:( So it's not like I went cold turkey:eek: overnight. Basically, the better I eat, the more regular I am. With my first child, (way before the eating healthy days) I went without a period for three months, and had GOBS of negative HP tests (we were trying). One day I just got a positive. Go figure. I hadn't been pregnant all that time, so I don't know what was going on. It tooks several weeks after that for her to show up on ultrasound. ~Lisa
Unicorn.
Haven't you lost a lot of weight since you started the vegan diet? I seem to recall that rapid weight loss/gain can mess you up for a while. I'd wait another 3 weeks or so, take another test, then call the doc. Quiver0f10
Thanks for the replies. I have lost 78# so far, but my loss has actually slowed since becoming vegan. I have added in weights to my routine in the last 3 weeks, but I am not power lifitng or anything LOL. The last 3 weeks I have been cleaning houses though. For instance, Friday I walked for 45 min, then did weights and then went and cleaned for a solid 5 hours. Could that be part of it? I have been regular since day 1 so I am curious. Not really worried just wondering whats up.
