Should I worry about this pimple looking thing at the back of my 8yo's throat?

There is only one and it has been there for about 3 days. It is straight in the back when I shine the flashlight in. He also has a head cold and a low fever.

Is this likely part of the cold, or something that I need to take him to see a doctor?

She has also had a mild cold. I did a google search this morning on her symptoms and it seems it is rather common. The info I got said to watch it and if it lasts more than a week to then take them to the Dr. Also, if the child has a high fever and feels very bad take them in right away because it could be strep. I am going to call our Dr. office this morning and see what the nurse has to say. Here is one of the sites I found:

I have tonsil pockets that debris collects in - they're called tonsiloliths http://ezinearticles.com/?Tonsiloliths&id=298966.

Ewww, I know. Grosses me out. Well, sometimes it comes out and can look like that. I regularly scrape my tonsil w/ whatever I can get my hands on when I see it! I just can't stand it to be there. Ugh!

I have these too, and I really wish I hadn't read that, LOL! Eeew. I didn't know they had a name, but it's good to know they're relatively normal. I do notice they're worse when I have a head cold/runny nose sort of thing happening.
