Linda...inOwasso
I'm sorry I can't help you. We use AP, but I didn't order the supply kits. I have a lot of art supplies already so we just ordered the books. Hopefully someone else will be able to help!
Tina in WA
We use Atelier, and I would assume my thoughts would cover AP as well. I wouldn't purchase the supply kits. I am sure you have a lot of the supplies on hand, or they can be purchased at a local store for less money. Remember those Joann's (or Michael's, etc.) coupons for the bigger items, and get your Joann's teacher educator's card for a 20% discount when they ring you out. :) They now let you register at the store, so just take in your letter of intent (or what ever your state uses) and get that card. :) I get my paper from Miller Pads and Paper at our June conference. But you can order it online as well. It is high quality and they come in big packs. To me, it is a better deal than using a discount card at Joann's/Michaels/etc.. But if your just starting out, you might need to go to a craft store to purchase the paper. Remember your coupons though. :) Oh and teacher discount card. :D Have fun creating! ~Tina
Pster
wow - I didn't even know they sold art supply kits! Am I "with it" or what? thanks for mentioning this - off to check it out!
yvonne
I got the AP supplies from MisterArt.com. I tried to do it piecemeal with Michael's coupons, but it was *never* going to happen if I had to do all that. (I have no art experience/knowledge and it was just too much trouble trying to figure out what was what.) MisterArt.com and DickBlick.com have kits for the different AP books. There's a link from the AP site to MA and to DB. Once you click on the AP set at MisterArt, you can modify the quantities of any of the individual items to fit your situation. (I got three times as many brushes, pencils, etc because I have three kids who'll be doing it.) I thought the prices were comparable to Michael's and the convenience was more than worth any minor, additional cost for me!! hth yvonne
Tina in WA
Oh Yes, DickBlick that was the other one I was thinking of. Thanks for posting about it. :) ~Tina
Arch at Home
I ordered the AP supplies for K-3 Book 1 from DickBlick.com for the same reason. I ordered sketch books, watercolor books, Ebony pencils, scissors, brushes and erasers for all but only one of the other items. I also ordered more clay than the kit because of the extra children.
