Jamee
I am very familiar with Yahoo groups and such, but not so much when it comes to g-mail and google calendar. Does the google calendar allow you, like a yahoo group, to send out reminders for events? What is the easiest way to send event reminders to my list, automatically? Is there anything you know now about g-mail and google, that you didn't when you started using it, but wish you did? I'm running a fairly large group and need to make communications #1. Thanks:bigear:
WVNA
If you open up the event, you can add guests. There is also an option there to add a reminder. I think the default value in the drop down list is a popup in gmail, but you can change that to an email.

I did that in a little test to myself but the message that came out seemed more complicated than it should have been. For one, it showed everyone it went to, I'd prefer more of blind copy thing. Then it looks like if you click a reponse/RSVP, that too goes to everyone. Can you hide the list on the calendar page? I guess I was just hoping for a nice little reminder like the Yahoo groups. Can you add people to a yahoo group for messages only without them setting it up? I wonder if it'd be easier to just send reminders through that, but then it's just one more thing to worry about.:tongue_smilie: thanks for the response! You can hide the list of people who are going to the meeting. Right under the "Add Guests" option, there are three check boxes. Uncheck the one that says "see guest list" and I think that will accomplish what you are looking for. I don't like yahoo groups so I don't know the answer to that question. Margo out of lurking
I've been using google calendar for a few months. I haven't "invited" others so can't speak to that. However, although I have it set to email me my schedule every day, there have been two instances where that's stopped for several days w/out explanation. I've had to go in, turn it off, and turn it on again to get it working. That's been a little frustrating, as I worry I'll forget something (and of course I wouldn't remember that it didn't email me!). For the most part, I like it though. athena1277
I know how to set up events and have it send me reminders, but whenever i try to invite dh to an event (basically let him know about kid's dr. appts. and such), he never gets the invite. No idea why.
