Here is my lineup for my DS's 10th grade year. Whats yours?

 

English 10: Vocab-define words from reading and quizlet for PSAT prep

Writing- Elegant Essay and TOG writing

Lit- TOG YR 2 ( I think)

Math: Geometry- online with Miss Jann

Science: Biology- Campbell with Dive cd

History: TOG Yr 2 (I think) I am letting him in on curriculum choices and we are going to our local convention next month to put our hands on stuff

Foreign Language: Spanish II- Local co-op

 

Electives: PE - gym attendence 3x a week and drivers ed

Computer Science- Local Co-op

Keyboarding- Typing Instructor

 

Extra Curricular- HS football, HS Basketball, Church Youth group, Church Basketball, Volunteering at local hospital (after he turns 16 in Feb).

 

I forgot to add he does before school seminary (with all youth in our ward in HS whether PS or HS) and we are doing Dave Ramsey High School financial course for .5 credit for econ which is mommy led co-op. :)

 

Anything I missed???

There will be others, but we haven't really planned yet what the

electives will be. I can't believe we're posting about 10th grade

already. It seems like such a short time ago we were fretting

about 9th. :)

Math - Alg. II and Geometry (at the same time)

Chemistry

U.S. Govt./Econ. - 1 semester each

Russian I

Religion - Our Quest for Happiness through Our Lady of the Rosary School

Elective - Chess

 

Extra - Scouts, Engineering Club, Chess Club, Church Youth Group

 

At least, this is what we have planned for now.

Math - VTI Geometry/Trig

Science - probably BJU Chemistry with DIVE DVD

History/Lit - WTM Year 2 and selections from Omnibus II and V

Bible - New Testament studies

English - VFCR D&E, linguistics, grammar review, writing with history/lit

Latin - Wheelock's (second half)

Comp Sci - Java programming (Greenfoot, then BlueJ using Head First Java,) website design

Music - flute lessons, youth symphony, attending concerts and musicals, etc.

Art - weekly lessons, art appreciation with history

Robotics team

Volunteer work - special needs class, books/literacy for elementary kiddos, other one-time events

Some classes at co-op (photography, sign language, drafting, etc.)

World History - Western Civilization, Speilvogel + supplements for non-Western history

English 10 - World Lit (various whole works), Hake Grammar & Writing 8 (yes, below level, but he needs it)

Latin II - Wheelock, second half + some easier Caesar

Intro to Philosophy - Morality and the Good Life, supplemental reading & discussion

Health - Making Life Choices (1/2 credit)

She's struggling some in Algebra, so we're going slowly through it and hoping she catches on soon! :001_smile: We're not moving on to Physics or Chemistry 'til her Junior year. Hopefully she'll be through Algebra and Geometry at that time.

 

She does quite a bit of Community Volunteer work, etc.
