Susie in CA
My 10 year old son worked on a report based on reading in 'How Nature Works' today. We did a keyword outline ala IEW and used this to write. I think he did pretty well. From Giants to Coal Ferns grow very slowly but their relatives like the horsetail grow fast. 350 million years ago the world was swampy and the horsetails grew 130 ft! Today horsetails only grow up to 3 ft and mosses only inches. Back then the horsetails grew so giant they became unstable and fell. They rotted and decomposed underwater over thousands of years. Under the heavy weight they compacted, blackened, and turned into coal. This was the first time he did a report based on a keyword outline. I have to say IEW made this very easy. Capt_Uhura
Sounds great! Are they keyword outlines based on paragraphs?
Susie in CA
Sounds great! Are they keyword outlines based on paragraphs? The keyword outline is based on the sentences with a paragraph. We followed Andrew's instruction and wrote down 3 keywords for each sentence, then closed the book, and used the outline to write the paragraph.
