kamom
DD9 loves to write. She spends a lot of spare time writing stories that she makes up. I have no idea how to help her along with her writing skills. But yet I would love to guide her in the right direction. We do CLE for language and I just make up writing assignments as we go. Here is a sample narrative that she wrote for a "newspaper" that we put together for fun. Unedited just like she wrote it the first time with no help whatsoever. We (the members of this Trout Creek Editorial) just arrived home from exploring the wild exploits of South Dakota. We had long anticipated such an exciting trip for the festive Christmas holidays. We had traveled perhaps two or three miles when disaster struck! Our brakes began humming menacingly. We were overwhelmed to think our long anticipated trip might be put off for the purring brakes to be fixed! But thankfully the chief of our home decided the brakes could wait a couple weeks. So, After an overwhelming amount of traveling our goal was reached!:001_smile: Governer Switchers and I (Mistress Honeybee)were assigned to sleep in a cozy closet. We had quite an enjoyable time on the whole. Builing treehouses, snowmen and snowforts, visiting with long-lost relatives, enjoying cosy- sleepovers at cousins' house lengthened over and over. The expected leaving date , Wednsday lengthened to Monday! I am sure we are all glad to be home at last though. _Mistress Honeybee_ They made up names for this editorial. Capt_Uhura
I think she'd enjoy Wordsmith Apprentice! The story line is that of writing a newspaper.
