Kalmia
One level outline from Human Odyssey: 11 year old boy (5th grade). I think he writes more than is required for proper form (a lot of the info should go in levels two or three, but we're using them for review and I wanted them to actually contain information). I. The Vikings came from the north and are known as Norsemen II. Viking society was made up of nobles, freemen and slaves II. Most Vikings were farmers. III. Some built boats and went "a-viking" IV. The Vikings were so proud of their ships they buried their nobility in them. V. At first they traded, then they raided. VI. The Vikings raided monasteries. VII. The Vikings settled in and near favorite raiding grounds. VIII. The three most important Norse gods were Odin, Thor and Frey. IX. The Vikings believed in Valhalla. X. The Viking poets were called Skalds. They told hero and adventure stories. XI. Lief Ericson sailed to America and called it "Vinland." XII. The Vikings gradually became Europeans. Joyofsixreboot
These help so much. At least in outlining 9yo (4th grade) ds seems pretty close to on track.
