johnandtinagilbert
It's the first time ever, as embarrassing as that is to say aloud, but my son is completely current in school. Not a single late assignment, including his online class and Latin, his great nemesis. It only took us half a year and a week of constant oversight, but my oh my, I can go into the weekend without a frustrated thought in my head! PTL!:hurray: :cheers2:

Sunshine State Sue
Is it a fluke or is he maturing? My fervent prayer is that ds grows up and doesn't just grow old...:p

PTL!:hurray::party::cheers2: This is definitely worth a celebration... for him and you!!!!!!!!!!! :hurray::hurray: I wish my son was caught up. Dd is doing pretty good at staying on schedule. But Ds... he is weeks off. I redid his schedule to see if I can just get him to go from where he is currently at and we restarted the schedul as of Jan 3rd. Well today he is already behind. Ugh!!!!! So this weekend I am going to be on his case the whole time. Thankfully he isn't horribly behind. -Precalculus: one section to do. -Chemistry needs to finish chapter 5. He just has a few more problems to do. Not a huge deal as next week he will be reviewing and studying for a test that is on Friday. -World History: he has a whole chapter to do... he didn't even start it!!! -Composition: he just needs to rewrite the final drafts of two SAT essay prompted essays. -Literature: he needs to read a science fiction book and keep a reading journal, but he has three weeks to finish this. But I don't think he did more than just read. Probably has the book read by now as he tends to be a fast reader. That is it... so I guess not horrible... Teachin'Mine
That is so awesome!!!!!! :hurray: I'm hoping that by posting in this thread whatever you have is contagious and I can pass it onto dd as this is one of the first Saturdays that's going to be a full school day. We're attempting to try to get even remotely caught up. :tongue_smilie::tongue_smilie:

My fervent prayer is that ds grows up and doesn't just grow old...:p Ha :) I think it's a little bit of maturing and also b/c I've become the school Nazi. I am all over...ALL over the 2 boys. Essentially, I've tried little by little and made so many changes and exceptions that I finally said, enough is enough. Finish your work or live in your bed. I was pleasant all week, I just rode their bums! :tongue_smilie: show off.... :D I was so embarrassed to post that it was the first time...ever...that I let the post sit for a while, then decided my pride could take the bullet and perhaps this might be encouraging! This is definitely worth a celebration... for him and you!!!!!!!!!!! :hurray::hurray: I wish my son was caught up. Dd is doing pretty good at staying on schedule. But Ds... he is weeks off. One thing here, one thing there until total destruction to my world b/c I was aggravated and my w/e were ruined following up after teens. I'm over that. It's gotten pretty simple. Get the work done or you will live in your bed. No more Mrs. Nice Mom. He actually came to me and said this morning (Sat.), "Mom, it's nice not to have any homework over the weekend." I wanted to say, "Duh." but instead, I replied, "I'm glad you see the benefit of working hard throughout the week and enjoying the weekend." Let's hope this is a trend. Janice in NJ
Get the work done or you will live in your bed. LOVE it! Sometimes it's so simple. I don't know why I make it so hard. Janice - trying to keep it simple here too!
