Karie
I see on the Apologia website that they have teaching DVD's for the computer for 150.00. Are these a good addition to have, or can a student do this mostly on his own without the DVD's?
HollyDay
This is the first I've heard of the dvds. So, no, we have not needed them :) We have used the cdrom quite a bit. And, my oldest really liked the audio cd for General. She did not use it for Physical.
Keniki
First, you can get them MUCH cheaper at CBD.com ($105 I believe). Then often, you can get them even cheaper on ebay. But, my children don't like it and MUCH prefer to do it on their own. The dvd's are a recording of the online class. When the instructor asks a question, you sit and wait while the students type in their answers. In the meantime, the instructor "fills in" with whatever including jokes. He also laughs at his own jokes. My daughter asked to just do the book on her own and she's doing fine.
Karie
Hmmm....doesn't sound like something my son would like-or need. I saw Rainbow Resource had them for $105, too. I think I'll just stick with using the textbook. Thanks all!
