Jeanne in MN
I'm guessing loose seat belts got caught in doors too many times because two of them are cut part way through and horribly frayed. They can't be safe, but can you get new ones installed and if so how much is it? Anyone gone through this? Thanks!
Nestof3
Why do I feel like my uncle told me it was unlawful to repair a broken seatbelt? (he's a mechanic/inspector). Perhaps I am mistaken? Anyone know for sure? Or, maybe that's for self-repair. Perhaps check with the dealer?
~Tara~
yeah you'll need to have a new one(s) installed...no idea how much that'll cost ya there's no 'repairing' a seat belt only replacing
Cindy in C-ville
We're doing this for our 12-passenger van on Monday. I can let you know the cost then, if you'd like. :) Cindy
LND1218
It depends on the make/model etc. The cost can vary a lot from less than a $100.00 to a couple hundred depending on the cost of the seat belt and the cost of labor. We were looking to buy a van that needed 2 seat belts replaced. They cost of having them replaced was about $250.00 but that was with discounted labor. So it could be more. I think it's something you have to have done by a dealer but maybe not. Just call your local dealer and ask them.
MommyX8
My husband has replaced broken seat belts. He went down to the junkyard, pulled them out and installed them. They work great. And really easy to do. Some cars are designed for the seatbelt to lock in a crash. They have to be reset.
Pam Wilhelm
I'm not sure I'd trust one from a junkyard....... but I would get one from a local parts store and put them in.... it's not difficult.
Jeanne in MN
I'd rather get them from a parts store and do it ourselves than pay someone mega bucks. As long as it's safe, that is. I will check into that first. Thanks!

emzhengjiu
Check the warranty first. I had to replace a seat belt in my Camry. Several places told me that some seat belts come with a life time warranty. Toyota's of course did not! Blessings, Judy
