How Much Review Is There At The Beginning Of Saxon Alg. 2?

Recommended Posts

Ds is finishing Saxon Algebra 1. He's got about 10 lessons left. The Alg 2 book is tempting him.

How bad would it be if I let him jump right into Alg. 2, and not finish those last 10 lessons?

I know that the lower level Saxon books have quite a bit of review at the beginning. Does Saxon's Alg 2?

Thanks!

In my opinion, it's better to finish algebra I to the end. If you think the beginning of II will be too much review, just give the tests and let him test out of the chapters that are review; that may be 20 or even 30 lessons, but look closely at any errors on the tests to make sure it's just arithmetic and not the concept. Go back to any lessons just to have him understand anything that he misses. HTH.

My sister was tutored in Saxon Algebra 1 and her tutor only made her go through lesson 100 and then she went into Saxon algebra 2 and she is doing just fine and wasn't behind at all.
