Hannah
I'm looking for a book of chemistry experiments that explain in detail why the results are expected. Any recommendations?
Corraleno
Inquiry in Action is a free 480-page book of chemistry experiments from the American Chemical Society. The experiments use common household materials and are simple to perform, but the explanations and teaching part are very very good. You can download the PDF here, or you can just read online and print the pages you need as you do the activity (click on "Classroom Activities," then the topic, and it will give you the materials list, links to the activity sheets/lab reports, etc.). You can also click the "Chemistry Review" button at the top of the page for a quick review of the relevant principles before you teach the lesson.
