Latin for 6yo?

I would wait. You can do a program like Prima Latina with a beginning reader, but I don't think it's the best use of the child's time and effort. There's plenty of time for Latin once the child is reading well! :)

ITA, reading is something you need to learn, Latin is an extra.

I'm doing Lively Latin with my 6yo, but she is a strong reader. I have no plans to start with my younger child she's reading on a 3rd or 4th grade level.

My dd was reading pretty well at 6 so we started her along with older sibling with LFC A. It did not work - too much too fast. But, we did have success with Minimus. We are doing Matin Latin now and that is much better for her. If you chose to do latin at such a young age, pick something gentle like Minimus or Latin's Not so Tough.

We have just begun with Latin for Children A. We are doing it for our 3rd Grader primarily, but our 6 yr old is getting dragged along for the ride. So far, she is doing very well. She did start reading at age 4 and can read chapter books now.

I still wouldn't use LFC if she was my oldest. I would prefer for her to have a more thorough grounding in the English language first, but I have to admit that she is doing very well so far.
