I am trying to figure out what type of eReader to get my DS to go with the RC. I'm not having much luck finding the format the files come in on the RC cds. If you own the program, could you help a gal out so I don't spend a fortune on something that doesn't even support the curriculum I am buying it for? Thanks.:D

I believe this website lists the books in the Robinson curriculum and provides links to those available online. The links take you to sites such as Gutenberg and Many Books and I download the books to my kindle.

The whole website is worth a look too

So it looks like I can get away with not having a printer until my kids hit the high school years and need the science texts printed off. Or am I missing something?

I don't have a printer which is why I am trying to decide if I can get away with just a Kindle or if I need to buy a printer as well.

If you're going to be using an ereader for PDF files, which is the format a lot of curricula come in, including the link to the Robinson curriculum, then you don't want the standard Kindle. It doesn't handle PDF files well and has to reformat them. Anything with a small screen is going to reformat PDF files in a way that might make the page very difficult to read, or you're stuck with tiny print so the entire page fits on a six-inch screen. Sony readers and the nook handle PDFs better, but you're still stuck with the smaller font size. The Sony 950, which has a 7" screen might be a possibility, but I haven't personally tried it. The kindle dx is great though, as is the iPad.
