mamananci
On their website, it recommends starting with WS 4 for 13-14 year olds.... Do you find that WS is "easy" and maybe I should place her in WS 5?
Mosaicmind
I just ordered WS 4 for my 9th grade dd. I haven't gotten it yet though so can't say. I based my decision on what several sites and catalogs said to do if they had never done WS.
Ellie
4 might be too easy. Why not order 4 and 5? Then if 4 is too easy, you can return it.
1Togo
I do not have WS 5, but I have WS 4. Many of the assignments are short; i.e. one paragraph. The book covers skills such as changing tenses, point of view, description (home and thought problem), sentence length, writing in first and third person, etc. There are only 18 lessons in the book, and a strong writer could easily work through the exercises in a few months. If your daughter can write essays and develop short stories, WS 5 might be a better fit. Edited October 7, 2010 by 1Togo
