For those of you whose house is usually a wreck...

Recommended Posts

I've finally found a few ways to keep my house decent.

1. We clean up TOGETHER after each meal. The 7 yo puts the dishes away before each meal from last meal, puts leftovers away, and takes the garbage out when needed . The 5 yo (almost 6) sets, clears and wipes down the table. We all take our own plate and utensils to the counter when we leave the table. I cook and do dishes/wipe stove and counters. Usually they finish first and I'm still working so I have them...

2. Clear the floors in the living areas of toys, clothes, garbage, whatever (none of which I have contributed to!) after each and every meal cleanup.

No more panicking when the dog starts barking and I think someone might be stopping by without notice. :tongue_smilie: I had to endure a few months of the table not being perfectly wiped (at least it was getting done!), but with a little practice ds now does a fantastic job!

Thanks for the tip. I really need it.

I've taken this week off of school to do some cleaning out. I didn't get to do a lot of it over the summer like I planned. I sprained my foot very badly and had a lot of tissue damage. My dh broke his arm this summer, too.

I want to have a good plan to keep it clean, so that sounds like a good one.
