distancia
Just getting everything together here to start creating transcripts. I am ordering an embosser with the name of our school. Example: Compass Rose Academy, with a logo of a compass rose in the center (our street address is Compass Rose Lane). On the bottom of the embosser plate should I put OFFICIAL DOCUMENT, OFFICIAL SEAL, or OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT? I really don't like using OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT, as I feel that should be incorporated into the text of the transcript as well as handwritten on the envelope going to the college. Thanks, from one very stressed mom! It's the tiny details that are making me bonkers.

If it says OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT then it can only be used for that. Not that I know of anything else you'd like to emboss but something might come up. stephanier.1765
I like Official Seal too. Can I ask where you are getting your embosser from?

PeterPan
Get what you want, but I will say I don't recall the transcripts I handled at a university admissions dept. being embossed, not homeschoolers', not anybody's. I'd save your money and go do $30 of something nice for yourself like a manicure. :)
distancia
Okay, you just saved me $30. Thanks.

I've seen talk of embossing the transcripts on here, but I've never done it, nor have I ever seen it done. I was wondering if I was going to need to get one! :tongue_smilie:
dansamy
Transcripts from the high school I graduated from have an embossed seal.
MomsintheGarden
That's an interesting idea, but I've had two accepted at colleges so far without one. GardenMom

Oh but yesterday I did upload a faded picture to use as watermark on the transcript and other records I'm keeping. I think it gives them a professional letterhead look. Ellie
I always thought about getting an embosser for my umbrella school but never got around to it in 16 years. :-) I did have a round stamp that had the name of the school around the perimeter; in the middle was a line for me to initial and date it by hand, to show that the transcript was current. I always used red ink. :-)
