Laurie4b
We're getting ready to study the Middle East in the 20th & 21st century. I am interested in your recommendations for nonfiction or even good historical fiction for this region in this time period. Documentaries or other movies would be good, too. (Recommendations could be about any country, personality, event, etc.) Thanks!
Miss Marple
Raid on Entebbe is available on Netflix. I watched it at about those ages. That's the first one that came to mind :-)
Guest
I loved the non-fiction book Unsettled by Marc Aronson for this age group.
flyingiguana
We just watched The Syrian Bride. It's pretty good, but left us wanting to research more. It's about the political situation in the Golan Heights. Here's a blog that talks a bit about the issues: http://meaningwithinwords.blogspot.com/2009/05/occupied-majdal-shams.html
Ester Maria
Ephraim Kishon has some excellent satyrical works that you might like. I use them to help my daughters' Hebrew since they have short manageable chapters, but quite a few of them are hillarious. It might fall into the "good fiction" category.
