So, in the meantime, which of those fiber supplements is safest for long-term use? I've used Metamucil in the past, but once tried the unsweetened and it was unbearable. I'd prefer to avoid artificial colors and sweeteners. Are the capsules as natural/effective? It is a white powder that you can add to anything; I usually mix it in my water or tea. Edited to say that one teaspoon contains 5g (20% Daily Value) of fiber. You can use it up to 3 times daily.
