SS in MD
I'm trying to piece together a history curriculum for my 9th grader. She'll be studying early modern (1600-1850). What is your favorite spine text?? Human Odyssey, Western Civ, World History by Duiker/Speilvogel, or the texts that SWB recommends in the WTM (I think they are America: A Narrative History by Tindall, and History of Asia by Murphey), or any others? It's hard to make a decision by looking online. Our local library is very small and doesn't carry many hs texts. I'd like the book to have critical thinking questions and a teachers book (for the answers lol). (I want dd to write an essay weekly from a history question), but, ultimately it's probably more important for the book to be thorough and engaging. Dd enjoys history and doesn't mind reading college-level bks - just doesn't want it to be boring and dry (she's spoiled by SOTW! lol) Thanks so much for any advice! I'd like to figure this out and get it behind me! Sangita dd(14),dd(12),dd(9),ds(6)
