In The Great White North
Has anyone used this? http://www.lulu.com/product/paperback/the-iliad-of-homer-a-study-guide-to-richmond-lattimores-translation/3993671?productTrackingContext=search_results/search_shelf/center/1#detailsSection What grade is it for? Are there table of contents, or sample pages online anywhere? Did your dc like it? Did it help them "like" the Iliad?
Miss Marple
If you look just under the picture, you will see "preview". If you click on that, it will take you to the first 9 pages of the study guide (including the TOC). There are no sample pages of the worksheets or the actual guide that I could find. He does say that it is for secondary students or adult learners.
In The Great White North
And I've looked at that page 50 times today without seeing that "Preview!"
Miss Marple
And I've looked at that page 50 times today without seeing that "Preview!" LOL! It is rather small and insignificant. One would think it would be highlighted and bolded - esp. for those of us with aging eyes. I truly appreciate it when important words such as those are just begging me to "click here"! Michelle in MO
If I remember correctly, I think Beth in SW WA may have ordered this study guide. If she sees this thread, maybe she could give you more info. on it.
Belacqua
I just got mine. I haven't used it yet, but I can try to describe it. In short, it looks terrific. It has a page on how to use the guide. Another page of resources. Then it goes book by book with 6-10 discussion questions per book. Some are straightforward and factual, others are more discussion-provoking. Then it has a vocabulary list based on a Teaching Company lecture. Followed by a list of writing assignment topics, a grade rubric, various translations of the first seven lines, and some poetry for memory work.
