SAT/ACT Essay prep~free

Recommended Posts

Yes, the ACT question has a very specific topic. IT is a practical topic like should high schools adopt a later start time or should schools require uniforms. You have more time to write a response. THe response should have on the one hand, on the other hand type of argument. You get graded down for not having this juxtaposition in the essay. You don't need to be remembering any examples or literary references.

The SAT essay prompt is purposefully vague. The topics are much more philosophical. Taking one side of an argument and following it is considered fine. Literary references and actual examples should be used.

Hope this helps. You can go to each test's website and see sample prompts and sample graded answers to see what each wants.
