distancia
Are there any math programs (Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry) that deal with manipulative like this--? http://www.newbanner.com/CEL/Math/algebra2.htm
Guest Cheryl in SoCal
That looks like MUS. The author suggests Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2 but you can do them either way or do Geometry at the same time as either of the Algebra's. Here is the link to their Algebra 1 page. Scroll down and watch the demonstration video to compare. It's an exerpt from Lesson 20 - Factoring Polynomials and he uses manipulatives like the link you posted. http://www.mathusee.com/default.php?cPath=2_20 Edited July 18, 2010 by Cheryl in SoCal
MyThreeSons
You can buy sets of plastic or foam manipulatives called AlgebraTiles from several sources. There is an inexpensive starter set made for use on an overhead projector which includes an instruction/activity guide. Individual student sets are quite cheap. I have also seen instructions and patterns online for making your own set if you prefer. The NLVM (National Library of Virtual Manipulatives) site has AlgebraTiles you can use online. Julieofsardis
There are manipulatives and free lessons to go along with them.
