klmama
Has anyone here followed the WTM recommendations for taking biology, astronomy, chemistry, and physics? If so, what did you think? Any concerns regarding ACT prep? Any problems from college admissions officers regarding the astronomy course, instead of other "tougher" science courses? Chris in VA
Ds did a semester of astronomy and a semester of physical geography, as well as Apologia bio and chem, and got into college just fine. I did not like the recommended "self-teaching" astronomy at all, so we went with Astronomy Today. Astronomy can actually be very tough, if it's math-based (ours wasn't). I thought Apologia chem had weak labs, and so did the bio. But it worked for us.

Summer after 10th grade or 11th grade if he doesn't graduate end of 10th grade: Environmental Science using Wright's Environmental Science. Dd is doing it a bit different 10th grade: Integrated Science using TTC Joy of Science DVD and Integrated Science text book. Summer after 10th grade: Environmental Science using Wright's Environmental Science 11th grade: biology/Life Science at CC 11th Chemistry using TTC high school chemistry videos.
