bearnpurple
I had this posted under the K-8 board--thought maybe I could get a reply by posting in the general forum...... Has anyone used this starting with book 1 (3 grade)? How did you do the lessons or is there somewhere I can find lesson plans? It was a toss up between this and Rod & Staff 3 grade math. My daughter is struggling and the PA series really helped my son who struggled through math. I use this with my oldest but we started with the 2nd book in 5th grade and are finishing the 3rd book this year. I would like to try it with my daughter this year but not sure how/what to do?!?!?! Any advise or links to help would be greatly appreciated!
Shelly in IL
But, we used ABeka and my son was above this level. I have it for sale if you search the name.
Jeanne in MN
Did you do a search here? It seems to me a thread came up on this within the past year or so. I ended up buying a used set because of it. :) Good luck finding it.
Jeanne in MN
Here's a link to a conversation on it from the curriculum board. There are other threads on this, but not as busy as this one was.

angela in ohio
I use it, but I have never found plans for it. I do have tests for third and fourth grade for the book, and I bought them online, though I can't find them anymore. I used it years ago with middle dd, and I have it out to use this year with ds. I used it along with our regular math curriculum for practice in problem solving and computation, especially mental math. I just divided the pages up over the year. We did it with a slate and pencil sometimes. :D I hope to use the other two books with ds, though dd was too busy to keep supplementing with it after about 3rd grade. Thanks......I do have the tests....I found them in Amish Country (outside Berlin, OH). Send me an email and I can scan them into the computer and email them to you....I bought the tests that go for all 3 books. Although if you are close to there, I can tell you who sells them. They were only 95 cents a piece. My son is on the last half of the 3rd book (he is in 8th grade this year). We are doing this book and then supplementing with Saxon Algebra 1/2 (I think). I am going to try the 1st book with my daughter and just move as fast as she can (she struggles). This series really helped my son so I am hoping it helps her too. When my son took his achievement test this year, he informed me that his math book was harder than the test.....go figure!

Jeanne - I tried searching but got frustrated....should have looked longer! :tongue_smilie: This is what I needed! Some little reassurance is always helpful! Guest bluebird
My daughter is currently in this book. She is in 3rd grade. My friend, who has used this book for years with her children (7 thus far), told me this math book is meant to be used over two grades: 3rd and 4th. The first half is used for the 3rd grade, the second half is used for the 4th grade. I really like it, my daughter likes the graphics and the way things are presented in the book. My friend has since brought the next two in this three book series. I think she got it at www.Christianbook.com, although, www.amazon.com may have it as well. I also got "Ray's New Primary Arithmetic" and "Ray's New Arithmetics" parent-teacher guide from either www.mottmedia.com or amazon. They have been helpful too. Another source I like for materials is www.memoriapress.com. Edited October 25, 2010 by bluebird
