dragons in the flower bed
My partner and the two kids who usually go to work with him (requiring a two hour drive each way) have listened to A Short History of Nearly Everything and Freakonomics on CD in the car. They like exciting, unusual facts, I guess. I've got Malcolm Gladwell on hold for them now. Can you recommend anything else that might be in the "exciting nonfiction" genre? Alexandra
I really enjoyed listening to Truman by McCullough. Also, I recently got a cd by David Sedaris read by him. I don't remember what the name was but the first story is about visiting his sister. My husband and I both wept we were laughing so hard. You should know that Sedaris is pretty open about being gay. ElizabethB
Albion's Seed, although there may not be an audio version. Many of the books on my big picture book thread sound like they might fit your criteria: http://www.welltrainedmind.com/forums/showthread.php?t=84362&highlight=plants+history+generations
