Janice H
http://www.thinkwell.com/homeschool/product/geometry Noticed this while looking at some other courses. It is not out yet; this link allows you to leave your e-mail address for publishing updates.
Jann in TX
Dr Burger is the main author for Holt Geometry (2007 -current editions). He also made videos to go with each lesson/example. These are just like his traditional 'Thinkwell' videos... The videos are FREE (online) for anyone with the codes from the student text (each lesson has its own code). This is the program I'm using with my online classes.. the teacher supplements ROCK! (plus the content is great too...)

Jann, are these codes just printed in the text so that anyone who owns a copy of the text (even if bought used) has access to them? Or is it one of those things where you need to buy a "scratch-off" access code from the publisher, which gives you access for a year? mktkcb
actually, you don't need any codes. The videos are all here http://go.hrw.com/gopages/ma/geo_07.html just go to homework help, pick your chapter, and there are videos for each problem in each section. Halftime Hope
I've been pondering what to use for my last student, and this looks like it may be just what he needs. Can someone list some ISBNs for the student books? Jann in TX, could you share a bit about the teacher supplement and any other materials you've found useful? I'd like this course to be a WOW course for ds. He is very auditory and is discovering a very late-blooming love for math. I'd like to knock this one out of the park for/with him. :) TIA!! Jann in TX
The teacher supplement is called the 'One Stop Planner'. It can be difficult to find as it would be HARD to part with as a teacher.... and you have to be an 'official school'--with your own PO number and such in order to get it from the publisher--even then it is around $400. BUT--it can be found online with some patience. I got mine on Amazon for under $40 shipped. The One Stop Planner is a set of CDs. Included is an electronic copy of the TE, solutions to every problem, tests, quizzes, and a great test/practice generator. The worksheet supplements are AWESOME. My favorite are the Reteaching worksheets. These have a brief example of the lesson then a few practice problems... nice and 'black and white' no frills or pictures and CLEAR to the students!!! I also use the problem solving supplemental worksheets and the challenge worksheets... there are still other parts of this that I did not list! ISBN is 0030781043 Student text is isbn 13 9780030358289 this is a HUGE text--I pity the student who has to carry it around in a backpack (well--my middle dd used this text in PS 3 years ago--and she did rip out a few backpacks and ended up with an 'industrial' strength one because of it!) Halftime Hope
Thank you so much, Jann!! I'm a die-hard Lial's fan, so this will be a big change. Or maybe not?? In any case, I appreciate your generous input! ETA: If you would like, we can take this to PMs if you prefer, but how do you narrow down what of the 900 pages to cover? That's a lot of material to cover! And how did you divide up the work on a day to day basis? (E.g.: if we were doing Lial Intermed. Alg, next year, we'd cover the lesson one day, practice problems the next, for the most part--long lessons excepted.) TIA, again!
