Heather in Savannah
I would love to hear from some real Math Mom's regarding the reasoning behind the Math schedule. I have heard that it is Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, Pre-Calc. However, my daughter is not a math person - guess where she got that gene from;) , and I am concerned that if I have a years gap between the two Algebra courses, that she will not remember enough to be able to tackle the 2nd course. Oh yes...she is a 9th grader and working on TT Algebra I this year. If you have any suggestions of course material as well, please keep in mind that both she and I gave up on Jacob's Elementary Algebra this year because we could not solve the equations....Jacob's only shows the final answer not the solution to the equation...she is now using TT where there is a complete equation solution for every questions...that has been so helpful. Thanks so much.
Michelle in MO
just a few days ago---check out this thread: http://www.welltrainedmind.com/forums/showthread.php?p=152189#post152189 This explains my reasoning, I guess, why we do Alg. I, Geometry, Alg. II, and then Trig./Precalculus. I hope this helps!

Heather in Savannah
I do appreciate input into this decision making process. Pertaining to Aleks, I'm not sure I would want to use it as a stand alone Math program, but it works great to test what my children have retained. It is also great as a filler to keep them moving over the summer so that they don't forget everything they learned. I can't say that my children were eager to do it, but it became just one thing they had to accomplish in their leisurely summer days :D
