Jennifer in MI
Anyone know anything about these? Ds needs a new one for his math class (community college). His thoughts - the Nspire has a removable faceplate so he can put in a new keypad that turns it into a TI-84+. The TI84+ is allowed on his tests and SAT/ACT. The Nspire has more memory. He is not allowed to use the TI-89 or the TI-92 (anything with the QWERTY keyboard). Thoughts? It's obvious where d.s. is leading. The price difference is $40. Teachin'Mine
We went with the T1-NSpire. When the 84 keypad is in place, it can be used for the standardized tests. The option of the other keypad makes it something that will be extremely versatile. The older models were more involved in changing keypads as far as the programming, but now it's really simple to change between the two. I couldn't see any downside - other than $40. If she needed something for more advanced math classes, then we'd be buying a whole new calculator. The large screen on this one and the really clear writing is a bonus! :) Here's a website with a chart comparing the different graphing calculators. Looking at this helped me to decide. http://education.ti.com/educationportal/sites/US/nonProductSingle/graphing_course_comparision.html Edited June 28, 2010 by Teachin'Mine
