Chris in CA
We are looking at the Italian book/cd set, but any information would benefit us, thanks
danielle
If you mean the "Ultimate" series, I have experience with the beginning French. Pluses: relatively cheap, covers a lot of vocab and grammar. Minuses: newsprint quality book, no workbook, few exercises, and sometimes the answers are too obvious. The content is directed at high school/adult level. It's a solid program, especially for the price, but pretty much no-frills. I'd supplement it with magazines, websites, etc. (but I would for any program!) Chris in CA
Yes, the Ultimate series, I am looking for a hs level text with a workbook if possible, but my dd wants to have a year under her belt before going to the local CC for Italian 1. Do you recommend something else instead? thanks for the response
danielle
What I'm doing is Rosetta Stone + Italian Now (a workbook published by Barron's). I think that would set her up for CC with more writing/grammar practice. You might also look into www.bbc.co.uk/languages. Someone just recommended this on another list, but I haven't checked it out yet. Danielle
