Tap
Sorry, I have a question that I have always wondered about so I thought I would take a shot here and see if anyone knows the answer. I hope I can ask it in a way that makes sense. If you take all the weather factors around the world and add them up (is there was a way to do this ?) and compared days when the world was in the same position to the sun, would it add up the same 'number' each time? i.e. If you could average the relative humidity around the world, would it always be the same? Is the world in a true closed ecosystem? Or do we loose/take on moisture? If it is a closed system, does proximity to the sun affect this? If it isn't a closed system do we have an exchange of water out of and into our atmosphere? I always wonder if when there is a significant weather event on one side of the world, if it forces a change on the other side of the world due to 'only so much water being held in the atmosphere at any one time'. Jean in Newcastle
Earth is both a closed and an open ecosystem. http://www.globalchange.umich.edu/globalchange1/current/lectures/kling/ecosystem/ecosystem.html
