Yet another Lively Latin question

This year we are using LCI for ds 4th and 5th grade. It is straight forward, well organized, and easy to use but a bit dry. I have decided to use Latin in the Christian Trivium for 6th grade next year. My older ds actually says that Latin is his favorite subject and I love the look of the program and the feedback I got from the author. My 4th grade (5th next year) ds will still be in LC I for close to half of next year due to a false start with Latin for him earlier this year. As I have said in my recent math posts, he is a young 4th grader and will not be ready for LitCT until 7th grade. Lively Latin looks so good and I know lots of people hear love it but is it difficult to use without a real book. I love having books to just sit and thumb through during the day while the boys are working. Do most of you just print out the whole thing? Do the students have a separate set of pages that go together like a workbook? How exactly do you use this? This is the child of mine that seems to need a little more stimulation from his books. :)

I love the look of Lively Latin, and the variety of exercises - I am printing it out one lesson at a time, (a lesson is 20 plus pages). So I print out the lesson, put it in my binder, then give him the pages to work on each day. It takes us about 2 weeks to get through a lesson. When he is finished with the work, he files it in his own binder. I prefer books myself, but this has not bothered me at all. I do not print out any of the teacher notes/ info, just look at it online to see if there is anything I need, but most of it is self explanatory. Anne Marie

My dd7 and I each have a 3 ring binder for our Lively Latin. I print out a copy of lesson 1 for both of us and we work on it daily M-F. We listen to the audio of vocabulary and then go through our flashcards first (5 minutes max). Then, we do a couple of pages of the lesson. I am learning it right along with her and we're both loving it. I actually like the format much better than a consummable workbook or a textbook. I highly recommend it. Good luck!!
