I'm pretty sure with Apologia it's just the book on the computer with the animations/etc from the companion CD. We tried SOS once (health) and didn't care for it. I ended up using the same course in LIFEPAC form instead. I don't care much for the LIFEPAC's either (I'm just not a read this and fill in the blank kind of person) but will occasionally use one for an elective. He is a very high functioning Aspie and it's been a lot of work. But, he is doing really, really well now. He does better if I'm less involved with his work. He works really well at the computer.
