Aubrey
Just found some really perfect mosquito breeding ground in the backyard. Dh cleaned it up, but...now the bugs are bad back there. Lest you underestimate, the water was growing algae. (Old, abandoned toy bucket.) Any hope for killing the critters now?
In The Great White North
If the water is gone, the bugs will leave/die in a week or two. If they don't, they're still finding water.

If you aren't opposed to spraying your yard with chemicals we just used the Cutter spray (found it at Walmart and Lowes) it significantly reduced the amount of mosquitoes in our yard. We were being eaten alive even with strong bug spray on so we had to do something to be able to enjoy our back yard again. You have to reapply it every 4 weeks or so but well worth the $10 to not have to be coated in bug spray just to walk out the back door.
