Blessed
My dd, 14yo has been doing Lial's intro algebra this year for 9th. She gets low B's and though she isn't "lost", I can't say she could "lead the way." Could LoF be used through summer to solidfy the concepts? Tutor
This is how we use LoF. We use it between TT courses as review before moving on to the next level.
Blessed
Thanks, Tutor! I didn't know how feasible it would be to do a different program, in its entirety over a summer. I haven't received the book yet but Lof seems not overly long. I hope she doesn't have too much work especially since she's done a whole year of LIals, it should be easier. I will have her start LoF mid June and go 'til its done, hopefully mid August.
elegantlion
FYI, the LOF beginning algebra, which is Algebra I, has 108 lessons.
Guest Cheryl in SoCal
FYI, the LOF beginning algebra, which is Algebra I, has 108 lessons. I was thinking the same thing (if I'm understanding your post correctly) but since we haven't done Beginning Algebra yet I didn't want to say anything. I think it would be a bit much to cover over the summer unless you have a pretty long summer and do math every day (and possibly every weekend). Blessed
Thanks, Cheryl. I probably will stop where we are in Lial right now, ch8 and take a little break then do LoF from June to Sept. It will be a change of pace but hopefully not too burdensome. Sharon
Tutor
We school year-round, so I don't really pay attention to summer vs. non-summer. We just finish a TT text then do a LoF text then repeat with the next TT/ LoF pair.
