rookie
We are considering joining a group that uses this program. I have never seen it before (expect for the sample page) and am wondering if any of you have used/seen it and what you think. How does it compare to Prima Latina and LC1 + LC2? My dd12 has done PL and about half of the first Ecce Romani Book. She also passed the NLE Introductory Exam with no problem. How would this compare to FFL? Anything else I should know? Thanks! There have been many threads on FFL in the recent past that you may want to search. It is a solid middle school Latin program with a user-friendly format. You need to consider what your language goals are for your daughter. If it is HS level work, then FFL is not it. I own and used FFL this past year with my younger two children. My older daughter uses Henle. There is a significant difference in respect of translation work. As I have stated elsewhere, the Form series is not the same content as Henle. In fact, I will be incorporating Henle into my younger children's SFL this next term, as I want them to have the rigor but their young age necessitates the reinforcement that SFL provides. Kristine in VA
I have been using First Form Latin with my 4th grader and 7th grader. They are both doing well, and I really like the focus on conjugations and declension. I think ds and dd have learned alot this year. For my 7th grader is has been review and reinforcement. He completed LCI and LCII, but I didn't think he had a good grasp of the information. I think FFL provided more practice and has been a good reinforcement. Next year I'm hoping they will both due Second Form (don't know when it comes out) and I am going to add Lingua Angelica for additional translation work for the 7th grader and maybe for the 4th grader.
