We're watching it this week from Netflix. Very enjoyable and a unique twist on this era in US history.

 

I'm curious if it's historically accurate. I'm not savvy on this era enough to know for sure.

I saw this in high school and absolutely love it! It's one of the few movies that I liked enought to own. Probably one of my favorite movies actually. But then again I'm a dork. :001_smile:

Our family adores the movie 1776 (with the exception of the script taking the Lord's name in vain, plus a little slightly off-color humor that went straight over the younger dc's heads). It has wonderful voices, songs, and great character actors.

The songs are the only way I can remember the names of many of the congress members. The committee to write the declaration: Adams, Jefferson, Franklin, Sherman, Livingston. "Maybe you should right it Roger, yes you...." The Livingstons are going....." I love the music!

 

We watch it every 4th of July!
