Julie in CA
Do kids still earn credits for work experience? My ds worked roughly 20-30 hours per week throughout high school. Can I give him any credit for that on his transcript?
Julie in CA
He has more than enough credits even if I don't assign him any at all for work experience. :001_smile:

Colleges really like to see well-rounded students who do MORE than just accrue credits -- work experience; community service; volunteer hours; extracurricular activities; internship; etc. are all very important to have to balance out school classes. :)
Brenda in MA
I would agree with Lori that the work experience shouldn't be part of his transcript listed as a course. However, you can highlight the work experience in the counselor letter you write. Also, if he has a good relationship with the boss (if it's not a family member), that person might be a good one to provide a recommendation letter. He might also find that some of his experiences with working might be a good topic for a personal essay. HTH, Brenda
