HollyDay
I have no idea what to use for high school spanish. I don't even know what my options are for a good, quality high school program. The only program I do not like is Rosetta Stone. I've tried to use that myself and did not like it. So, please share with me options for this subject. Thanks!! mcconnellboys
It came with a set of 12 CD's. I'm not sure any DVD rental was available at the time, as this was 4 years ago....

Platiquemos Spanish is excellent for conversational Spanish. Combine it with graded Spanish readers, and you'll have a knockout course. His site is no longer up--I'm going to have to snatch it up in case it's going out of print. (EEK!)
K-FL
If you have it at a local cc, I'd go with that. They assume that the students haven't had the language before. It has the added advantage of covering the 2yrs (in 1yr) of Foreign Lang. needed for admissions, plus if you can get the credit, covering the F.Lang req. for some Bach. degrees. HollyDay
Any other suggestions? From what I've read so far, BJU is about the only quality high school spanish program??
Chris in PA
Holly, You might want to check out Breaking the Spanish Barrier. We are going to be using Breaking the French Barrier in the fall. I have a student text, answer key and a listening cd. I am excited to get started. The website says that level 1 is equivalent to a first year high school Spanish course.
