Jane in NC
What's a good cheap resource for a parent wanting a refresher course of algebra and geometry? The Lial texts were written as remedial texts for adults. They are consumable with older editions being quite inexpensive. You might want to refresh your algebra skills by picking up a Lial Algebra book. Geometry is another matter. Are you looking for a proof oriented geometry course or more of a middle school refresher on basic ideas?
plansrme
http://www.wiley.com/WileyCDA/WileyTitle/productCd-0471530123.html I am working through this one on chemistry, and it has been incredibly simple, so far. I think there is a geometry version as well. Terri
EKS
I used ALEKS and did it quickly (40 hours for algebra and 20 hours for geometry). I spent whatever one month cost on each.
LunaLee
I've got Lial's Beginning College Algebra 5th edition (found at a used bookstore for $4) and I'll worry about Geometry when I get there. :001_smile:
