spicejenmom
I need to cut back on some of my parent led materials so I can better meet the needs of my little ones educations (5,3,1). We are currently finishing up FLL 2. How does Growing with Grammar compare? Any other suggestions? Thanks, Jenny
Sasharowan
WE used FLL 1/2 and GWG 3 & 4. GWG matches with my kids peronalities better. They were always resistant to FLL, but with GWG they read the assignment, ask any questions and do the worksheet. With dd10 and ds8, they have preferred things they can figure out on their own since they were little. The hardest time I have had with dd was teaching her to read because she could not figure it out on her own. So I let them learn on their own, but require that I check over and we discuss what they have done to ensure an understanding. DS14 does GWG7 and is ok with it, but hates writing of any kind. He likes it better than Jensen's grammar that he was doing before.

Leighton Academy
We did FLL 1/2 and then switched to GWG 3. I thought it would be easier for us if he could work on grammar on his own. He read and understood the lesson at the time but did not seem to be retaining the information the way I had hoped. GWG3 has now been put on the shelf and we're using FLL3. We both LOVE it so much more than GWG. He catches on pretty quick and we skip the "scripted" part of the lesson most of the time. Sometimes it seems like FLL is too repetitive for him but he definitely is retaining so much more. YMMV :)
JudyJudyJudy
We used FLL3 when ds was in third grade. When ds was ready for FLL4, it wasn't available yet, so we tried GWG4. Ds hated it! When FLL4 came out later in the school year, we ordered it, and I sold GWG4 on eBay. Ds was disappointed that FLL4 is the last in the series.
