love2read
I picked up a mold for making a cake at the thrift store in new condition and have no idea how to use it. I thought I would just pour the cake into both sides, but there is a tiny hole in one side. I remember hearing once that the hole side goes up and that clamps hold it together. Huh? Doesn't the batter run out when you flip it on top of the other mold? I've googled this without success, so it must be that it's obvious or everyone else has directions. I was hoping to make the cake for a fund raiser tomorrow night, so any help would be very much appreciated.
happi duck
I'm not positive but... I think the side without the hole is the bottom half that gets filled with batter. The side with the hole is the "lid" and does not get any batter. The cake should rise and fill in the side with the hole. Hope that makes sense and again...just a guess.
