Robin in Alabama
Hi, The Stobaughs are giving a workshop in our area this weekend. Wondering if anyone has been to one of theirs and if it was beneficial. TIA, ~Robin
Julie in MN
I went to these in the fall in Minnesota. I really liked them, but I'm kind of a workshop nerd. My son got something out of it in terms of higher aspirations towards literature, testing, and such, but he was very adamant that his attention span was not adequate for 2-day lectures :tongue_smilie: Many of the other kids seemed to do fine :glare: Some of the things I remember - - audiobooks have value - knowledge of well-known literature has value in conveying ideas to a wide audience (and understanding other folks' ideas), even if the book itself doesn't have value in my eyes - SAT has a different value than the ACT, which Minnesotans all take - homeschoolers in competitive colleges could change our world :) If you do go, I'd like to hear what you get out of it (as a refresher course for me :) ).
