arcara
I just started this with my dd (2nd grade) last week. I was planning to start it with her in the fall, but she asked to start now. I'm having her go very slowly and making sure she's mastered the vocabulary and chants before moving on. I'm also using the Activity book in addition to the workbook for extra practice. Plus, she loves the sort of activities in there (crosswords, etc.) I really want this to be a positive experience for her. The first day, I introduced the lesson and we watched the DVD together. We skipped the "Why learn latin section" -- too long. That day took 20-30 minutes. Since then, I've had her listen to the CD and chant with it 2-3x per day. Some days I've added a workbook page or activity page. Actually, we've only done 2 of these so far. So, 6 days into her latin journey, she's spent 20-30 minutes the first day and then 10-15 minutes each of the other days. She's really enjoying the chants. In fact, I've heard her brother and sisters chanting them at time. Actually, they get stuck in my head, too! :) Enjoy!!
Heather in WI
My oldest is on LfC C after using both A (2nd grade) and B (3rd grade). I allot 30 minutes a day, 5 days a week for it.
s.z.ichigo
Finished LFC A recently. We spent about an hour+ a day on it, usually split into two sessions, 4 days per week between the workbook, activity book, dvds, and flash cards. We occasionally did the History reader as well. Ginevra
I'm using LFC with my 4th grader. We schedule about 30 minutes, 4 days/week, but we are going very slowly. We have too many other bigger priorities than Latin, so I'm viewing it as some is better than none. :tongue_smilie: It takes us 2 or 3 weeks to finish a chapter.
