Cindyg
My son and I are about to finish Latin Prep 1. My Latin tutor really wants us to move into Wheelock. I have a copy of Wheelock's here, and I was delighted to find that I could comprehend the first chapter, so that's a possibility. I also have a copy of BJUP's Latin for Christian Schools, and I started reading it last night, and it looked not just doable, but interesting! I can't find a word about it online. Has anybody tried it?

ChrisN in NY
One of my friends used it a few yrs ago with her oldest. They did both year 1 and year 2. When he got to Calvin College, he took more Latin and did very well. He felt well-prepared for the college course. HTH
rubyinprogress
My older son (now graduated) used BJU Latin 1 and 2. He was totally independent study. I tried to do it with him, but I am terrible with languages. Rather than slow him down I let him go at his pace. He did very well. In fact he scored so well on his tests I wondered if it was too easy and he wasn't really learning. I opened the book to a passage in Latin and asked him to translate it for me. He translated it only slightly slower than if he had been reading in English. I was convinced!
