TMarie
Can anyone compare upper level MUS to Teaching Textbook? I'm interereseted in algebra 1 first. Thanks!
KidsHappen
My oldest dd used TT and my next used MUS. They both worked well. The concepts in Gemometry are presented in a more traditional manner in TT geometry than in MUS. The one using MUS hasn't finished Geometry yet so I am not sure of the overall results but they got almost the same SAT scores on the math sections so I would say that they prepared them equally well. I guess it mainly depends how your child learns best. Edited January 31, 2010 by KidsHappen
Pam L in Mid Tenn
We have used both TT Al 1 and MUS Al 1. The MUS goes into more concepts and is a more 'complete' course. The first part of TT Al 1 was an overkill of review. For some students that much review might be a good thing. TT was a great "change of pace" for us for 1 year. Then it sort of bombed for us, and we floundered. I finally made the decision that we are just a MUS family and will stay with MUS. I have 2 very close friends that LOVE TT. It works well for those families. I say , for math, find what works for your family and stick with it! Pam
