Love2Smile
Other than IEW, it's too much $$$ and I can't spend that much time learning how it works etc... (lol), what do you suggest for a good writing program that teaches different styles, papers etc...?
AngieW in Texas
I thought Essay Apprentice and Essay Architect looked interesting. IEW works great for my two older girls, but it doesn't work for my youngest. I'm planning to try Essay Apprentice for her next year. Both programs are for 6th-12th graders. rwalizer
I love Writeshop because my ds is a struggling writer and this curriculum really holds your hand while teaching writing. I think it is designed to be used around 7th-9th. We started with Writeshop I in 7th then switched to IEW in 8th, which was not a good fit for ds, then we went back to Writeshop II for 9th grade. We will finish that up in the spring and then next year, I plan to try to incorporate what we learned into writing with a literature curriculum while using Wordsmith Craftsman.
