Love2Smile
RIght now we are using Saxon Alg. 1 with "teacher" DVD's. Saxon does not have the teacher for Geometry and im kinda freaking out, because Saxon has saved our homeschool! I know TT has the DVD's but it was a huge flop for us in Algebra one. Any suggestions? Is TT okay for geometry? We NEED DVD's and BJU/Abeka is out of the question $$ wise!

EKS
We are using and are almost finished with TT Geometry. It is a standard traditional geometry course and it has proofs (2 per lesson). It is not honors level material but it gets the job done.
Heather in VA
We are doing well with Life of Fred Geometry. Heather
chalkboard
check out Math U See Geometry. It has video (DVD) instruction and it is not proof intensive, although it doesn't ignore them, either. Susan
mathmom
Do you know what part of Geometry scares you? Maybe you can stay with Saxon and supplement with something else for the parts where you think you need help. I know of some free online resources that may be helpful. I'm not a Saxon fan myself, but if it's working so well for you, couldn't you just stick with it?
Love2Smile
I thought Saxon integrated a full Geometry course into its AlgI/II texts? I'm not a Saxon fan myself, but if it's working so well for you, couldn't you just stick with it? That's what I thought too, that Saxon has Alg. 1 and Alg 2 and it's integrated. They sell the "teacher" DVD's to go along with them, they are wonderful and much more user friendly than Teaching Textbooks. However Saxon, now just released a geometry course but does not sell the Teacher DVD's (yet), so im wondering if we just went straight to alg. 2 she'd be fine and get geometry that way
Heather in VA
I don't use Saxon but I'm pretty sure the DIVE dvd people have the DVD lessons for the new Saxon Geometry. They are $50 so that seems less than most DVD type stuff. Heather
Love2Smile
Saxon still has geometry integrated into their Algebra 1, Algebra 2, and Advanced Math books. You have to finish the first half of their Advanced Math book (in addition to Algebra 1 and 2) to have a full geometry credit. You could just go on to Algebra 2 with Saxon Teacher now. Then you could continue on to Advanced Math with Saxon Teacher, or if you'd rather, just do a separate geometry course at that time. Thanks! This is most likely what we will do. We love the "teacher" DVD's! And it will give her 3 total years of math! I just don't trust TT enought to spend close to $200 bucks on geometry and then have it flop for us! Love love LOVE Saxon math! I know some people hate it, but for us it's the BOMB!
